The Gatewood Brothers formed a gospel singing group while most of them were in their teens. They went from church to church wowing congregations with their youth, determination and unique harmony. As they grew up, and began going into different directions, sustaining as a group, became unrealistic, if not impossible.
Fast forward 50 years later, The Gatewood Brothers are at it again. Five of the brothers; Joseph, Robert, Leon, Curtis and Daniel, though in various locations and professions, are all on one accord, singing again, but this time with a slight twist. The Brothers have added light Rhythm and Blues and message music to their repertoire.
One of the missions of the brothers is their desire to preserve good soul music.
The Brothers will be performing at The Hampton B. Allen Library in Wadesboro, NC on Monday, July 10 at 10:30 a.m.
