Songwriter Tracy Newman had to win a few major writing awards before she segued to writing/performing her own songs. Big sister of SNL's Laraine Newman, Tracy's credits include member of the Groundlings where she met her future TV writing partner, Jonathan Stark. They started on Cheers, and worked on many shows, including Bob (Bob Newhart), The Nanny, Ellen, The Drew Carey Show and Hiller and Diller (Richard Lewis and Kevin Nealon.) In 1997, they won the Emmy and the prestigious Peabody Award for writing the ground-breaking “coming out” episode of Ellen. Tracy has been writing songs all along and is once again performing full-time. Her debut CD is “A Place in the Sun.” On this show, Tracy talks about her singing gigs that include a benefit concert for her dear friend, actress (General Hospital) & very funny lady, HGTV's Suzanne Whang whose fighting the good fight against the Big C.
