Rescuing Families From Homelessness

Imagine walking the streets with your family, without a place to call your home.  Or, what if your family faces the risk of becoming homeless? 

How will you get back on your feet again?  How do you become independent?  What can you do to get sound advice or advocacy?   

Whether it’s from loss of a job, an injury, healthcare costs, or the inability to find affordable housing, many of our nation’s families are now homeless.  In fact, families now make up 40% of the homeless population, and one out of every four homeless people is a child.

Fortunately, there is an answer -- a nonprofit organization ready to find food, shelter and support services.  It’s called Family Promise. 

Family Promise accomplishes its national work through independent affiliates in 41 states (and counting!), guided by experts.  At the heart of each affiliate is an Interfaith Hospitality Network (IHN), bringing the faith community together with these families to help them regain housing, independence and dignity.
