As a result he lives the lifestyle of a homosexual not recognizing the correlation between that incident and his current sexual preference. A woman has been decieved on countless occasions by men whom she poured her heart and soul into. As a result, she cannot allow herself to trust the good man God has blessed her with. A young girl grows up without her father in her life. Though her mother does the best she can to fulfill both roles, the girl constantly feels the need to seek attention and love from boys and men. She does this by exploiting her body and allowing herself to be used for the sake of feeling needed and wanted by a person who in essence represents her missing father. These are just some examples of how a person's environment can affect the ways in which they deal with the world around them and the people therein. What's your story? How has the environment you live or have lived in affected your personality and character. Stop in and share your thoughts. That’s right…we are at it again. Today’s topic deals with those things that we love so much or desire so much that our actions border on obsession. One example would be the infamous “Facebook” or “BlogTalk.” When a person discovers one or both of these social networks they tend to spend hours upon hours on them despite other people and things in their lives that may need attention. Another example would be when a man or a woman loves their partner so much that they want to be up under that person alllllll the time. Work can become an obsession. Sex can become an obsession. Even basking in the precious gifts God gave you can become an obsession. How do you approach someone who has obviously become obsessive about something that affects you? What if that person is you? How would an individual combat the negativity of obsessive compulsive behavior? We would love to hear your thoughts on the matter. 01:30:00LyricalDisciplesnoobsessive behavior, poetry, love, relationships, lifeWhat’s good FAM?! That’s right…we are at it again. We are delighted to welcome Tshombe the Poet to our front porch. Forall who are familiar with his work, I'm sure you would agree that Tshombe is not your average poet. Born in New Orleans and raised in Isarael, Tshombe offers a view... of two worlds of opposite polarities for anyone who enters his gravitational pull. In 2005 he developed an affinity for the craft and skill of expressing through poetry, finding it as a viable vehicle for teaching and help others see the world through a different lense; delivering compelling lyrics that speak with truth and clarity. Mused by the events of life, inspired by truth; delivering more than just poetry, but his true aim is to incite life just as the Most High spoke life into existence. Tshombe combined his love for jazz and poetry with life; he mixes them into one verse, preparing for the ultimate delivery of art. We certainly look forward having him on the show. Family please stop by to show our special guest some love. Be advised that the show is at a new time of 6 PM eastern time so be sure to adjust your schedules so that you won't miss it. Someone even said to me, (male of course), "there is no such thing as a soulmate, just a helpmate God created for man". Is there truly a difference between help mate and soul mate? What is a soulmate and how do you recognize that individual when they come along? Why is that? Granted there are some situations like a person who swares a lot tuning down a bit because there is a child in the room, that I can kind of understand. I'm talking about the ones who put on the biggest fasade ever when they are around someone they are trying to impress, but when they get back into their comfort zone, they are completely different people. Why is all that necessary? Or how about those people who act a certain way when they are on the radio, but once the show has ended so does the expressions of kindness towards you. Why can't people simply be consistant in their behaviors? What do you have to say about the subject? The front porch is yours to speak your piece. We look forward to seeing you there. Be it with our occupation, our artistry, our ministries, our relationships, our mental and/or physical capacities, or our financial and spiritual growth? Whatever your current focus in life. In this upcoming year, how are you going to make your life better? What changes are you going to make? What or who are the bad elements you need to remove in order for you to reach your growth potential? People often speak of New Year's resolutions at the beginning of each new year, but as the year progresses, they end up renigging on the promises made to self leading to the lowering of self-esteem. How do we combat that? I want each of you to think about where you came from for a moment. Then give yourself a pat on the back because of how far you've come. Then I want you to ponder where it is you would like to go. Think about it brothers and sisters, then give us a call on the show and lets talk about it. You never know when your thoughts or experiences may act as a lighthouse for others to find their way. As always, soulful expressions of poetry and/or singing is welcomed.
