Darryl Conway says he is lucky. But when you send out 30 letters to 30 NFL teams and happen to get a break, that is not luck. That is dogged determination. His insights into taking advantage of an opportunity is a resounding lesson for us all.
Mr. Conway is the Senior Associate AD and Chief Health & Welfare Officer at the University of Michigan.
His advice to young students is to ask questions, then ask questions from the answers, and ask more questions. This is one way Darryl Conway distinguishes himself among his peers in the AT profession. It is what moved him from watching Keoki Kamau speed tape at the Art Monk football camp to sitting with the athletic trainers of the NY Jets to writing the in-stadium emergency protocol for the NFL, all before he was 25 years old.
His questions took him to work with the elite police force SWAT teams in Maryland and have him as a highly sought after leadership speaker.
