Melinda Hinson Neely runs a marketing business, runs a household and still manages to run marathons. She majored in nutrition at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill, received an MBA from the College of William and Mary and served as an adjunct professor at Seattle University. Before entering entrepreneurial life, she managed multi-million dollar consumer brands in the Northeast such as Dimetapp Cold and Flu Medicine, Welch’s Grape Juice and Polaroid Instant Film. She moved to Seattle to work at the corporate headquarters of Starbucks, then served on the executive teams of two technology companies, one of which she helped take public.

Most importantly, Neely has stayed healthy and happy while juggling everything from a full-time business career and completing sixteen marathons across the country (from San Diego to Boston to Dublin, Ireland) to the life changes that accompany marriage and children. Her second book, Eat, In, Not Out: The Learn-How-to-Cook-Book Without the Recipes (Booktrope, 2012), was selected by Barnes & Noble as a “Compelling Read From Authors You Need to Know.” Her first book, Finding Life’s Secret Sauce: How to Fit Good Food, Fitness and Fun into Your Crazy, Busy Schedule (Morgan James, 2010), embraces her role as an Everyday Wellness Expert and offers practical suggestions for shaping up and getting healthy that can fit into any schedule or lifestyle.
