Born and raised in Washington, DC, DeAngelo found his love for music at the age of five. He attended the famed Duke Ellington School of the Performing Arts, before graduating from Northwestern High School in Hyattsville, Maryland. DeAngelo went on to further his education at Morgan State University in Baltimore, Maryland. He currently lives in Washington, DC with his family, and has one son, DeAngelo, Jr., who was born during the taping of the MTV reality show. DeAngelo Michael Redman, is among a new breed of American R&B vocalists, songwriters and actors. His career recently took a meteoric leap when he appeared on the hit MTV realty series Making the Band 4, a program that allowed him to showcase his strong talent and win the hearts of fans around the world. DeAngelo, emerged from a field of more than 10,000 hopefuls competing for the opportunity to make the reality show and earn one of the five spots in new band being formed by hip hop mogul Sean "P Diddy" Combs. DeAngelo made it to the final round of contestants and appeared on "Making the Band 4's" live season finale which was viewed by a worldwide audience of 5.1 million people. DeAngelo is currently touring the United States performing and promoting his strong R&B sound.
