CAT tax, Family leave tax, Carbon Tax and more

Ernst and Young, a "big 4" accounting firm, released a new study that shows the forest products industry pays a larger tax burden when compared to other businesses in Oregon. Yet, we are seeing proposals to add taxes to the industry based on false claims they aren't paying their fair share. At the same time, lumber prices and housing are at all time highs. If you add new taxes on the industry that produces lumber do you think that might just add to the housing problem? Speaking of the homeless, it seems even Eugeneans have their limits when they can't get to their jobs due to on street camping. COVID is also still a big story and the legislature is at "crossover" today so their is a mad scramble to keep bills alive. We can also talk about whatever is on your mind, just give us a call!
