Obama care… On the surface sounds like a good idea. Everybody should have health insurance however, the reason why they don't mainly is because you can't afford it.
Robin just had her taxes done and as expected the tax preparer shared how much the penalty [excuse me the tax] would be if she did not have health insurance.
This year, Robin's penalty for not having health insurance would be $314 based on income and family size. Ultimately according to the tax preparer he projected maximum silver plan cost would be $325 per month or $3909 annually.
All sounds good and groovy doesn't it?
fortunately, Robin is getting enough in her tax return to a exactly for her property tax so it's an even wash.
But what if it wasn't?
not everybody gets refund every year and not everybody can afford health insurance or even has the option. So what happens then?
were going to talk a little bit more in depth about the penalties from the Obama care act and we invite your phone calls and emails on your thoughts about them and if you've already completed your taxes, what has your tax preparer said that you would be owing this year for the penalty?
Mark your calendars… Saturday, February 22 4 PM Pacific time
