Session Overview: According to recent studies, two-thirds of all outsourcing programs fail to achieve the expected results. Some studies even suggest that the real proportion of failed projects may be as high as 90%. Sadly, this is not a new phenomenon. Industry reports and articles between 1995 and 2007 indicate that little progress has been made with a concept that seems to be long on promise but short on results. As we move towards cloud-based models where risk management and security present even more obstacles, we need to ask: is outsourcing really a viable strategy? Moderator: Jon Hansen (The PI Social Media Network) Panelists: Colin Cram (Marc1 Ltd, Towards Tesco author), Karen Evans (former CIO, United States Government) and Richard Stiennon (Author of Surviving Cyber War and expert on Security) Elcom, the official broadcast sponsor for the PI Window on Business eWorld 2010 coverage.
