For Better or Worse, it's actress COCOA BROWN (no relation)

She’s often seen as the comic relief, the friend who has your back, the funny girl. But don’t let her infectious laugh fool you: Cocoa Brown is the real thing!

Born and raised in Newport News, Virginia, Cocoa started acting at age ten. In college she graduated from Virginia Commonwealth Univ with a BS in Mass Communications, and minored in Theatre Arts; and then obtained her Masters in Secondary Education from the Univ of Phoenix. For a time she worked for the firm that owns and operates Ringling Bros and Barnum & Bailey Circus, and Disney On Ice.

1997 saw her retirement from corporate America to pursue stand-up comedy full-time. In just seven months as a stand-up comic, Cocoa won the Washington Comedian of the Year, which set off a string of events that would eventually land her on the big screen in Lakeview Terrace (Samuel L. Jackson, Kerry Washington), and on TV (Tyler Perry's For Better or Worse; ER; Two Broke Girls; The First Family; Don’t Trust the B in Apartment 23; Las Vegas; and more). She can also be seen in national commercials (as in the Progressive commercial where she asks, "Are YOU Flo??")
