Tracy Swedlow, editor-in-chief of InteractiveTV Today [itvt], speaks to CEO of Softel Group, Sam Pemberton, who is a veteran in the ITV industry and in charge of the vision and strategic direction for the multinational company. In this interview, Sam reveals news about EBIF projects, their new relationship with Ensequence, the future direction of the company and much more. Softel finally put out a new Web site (and this is a company that never likes to generate press releases), so we thought we'd dip in to see if Sam would reveal some of the secrets off the company. He founded the American arm of the company in 2001, but rose to be the Group's CEO in 2006. The company provides various technologies and services: subtitling and captioning, ancillary data processing, audio descriptions, teletext, and playout services via their MediaSphere offering for interactive TV applications for broadcasters amongst other things.
