I'm very grateful to you Caroline for agreeing to appear on my show so soon after your wedding.  Caroline struggled for a number of years with depression, mainly because of the difficulties she experienced with her weight. Her depression eventually led to self-harm and she found herself in a black hole from which there seemed no escape. In 2006, when she was 23, her mother passed away after a short battle with cancer. This very harrowing experience turned out to be the spur that started Caroline’s transformation to where she is today. “I was present at her death and that moment is responsible for the work I am doing today. In the weeks and months following her death, in pain and wracked with the most intense grief, I knew that if there was any beauty to be taken from her passing, it was that I must follow my heart and work towards being with those who are suffering or have suffered the pain of loss.” “I trained as a Soul Midwife in 2011 which is a non-medical companion to the dying. I then trained as a Funeral Celebrant in 2012. After performing this work in my hometown of Shrewsbury I moved to London to train and work as a Funeral Director. I have returned to my celebrancy but also now offer talks, educating adults and parents on how to talk to children about death and dying.” I have had the pleasure of meeting Caroline and found her to be a very spiritual and sincere lady; hence I am now looking forward to hearing about her journey, straight from the horse’s mouth, so to speak!
