Photobucket Photobucket Join Michael as he interviews Janet Bronstein of the Shambhala Meditation Center located in Birmingham, AL. Janet Bronstein is one of the founders of the center and joined the Shambhala community in Lexington back in 1979. She is one of the leading meditation instructors and holds a M.A. and PH.D. from the University of Kentucky. She is professor in the Dept. of Health Care Organization and Policy and Senior Scholar, Lister Hill Center for Health Policy (UAB), among other prestigous awards. She also teaches a course in Social and Ethical Issues in Public Health. In this segment, Michael will be asking Janet to discuss the importance of meditation, understanding spiritual materialism, and becoming aware of one's own "shenpa". How peace in a community first begins with one's own mind. Join Janet and I as we explore the sacred path of the spiritual warrior and how the teachings can be practiced and applied to any spiritual tradition that he or she follows to enrichen one's life in the present moment as a living, breathing, and already sacred human being.
