We all strive to live Fabulously and at times are stuck when challenged with life's difficulties or barriers.  But staying committed to your purpose and being clear of your intentions will allow you to be not just alive but fabulously living. Listen in on our conversation with someone who is Fabulously living, Miss Lauren Craig. As a lawyer, writer, style expert and media correspondent, Lauren Craig has been courting the public eye since she launched InaWordFab.com in 2007. First bitten by the fashion bug during a college internship with W Magazine and Women's Wear Daily in Los Angeles, California, it was not until after law school that she truly developed a fashion editor's eye. It was then that she was inspired to blend her love of writing with her burgeoning style savvy to become a fashion blogger, and thus InaWordFab.com was born! Quickly, it became a go-to internet destination for irreverent commentary on celebrity style, breaking trend news, industry interviews and pictures from the most exclusive parties and events in New York City. Since that time, Lauren has become a writer-for-hire, contributing content to media outlets including MTV.com, ThisThatBeauty.com and HelloBeautiful.com. Currently, as the official Glambassador for Newark, New Jersey, Lauren writes for NewarkHappening.com, the official travel and tourism blog for the city. Lauren is passionate about sharing the most glamorous aspects of culture with her audience.   01:01:00Truth Talk Feat Intimacy ColournoLife,Living,Wellness,Empowerment,Fabulously LivingFabulously living is about creating balance in your life,  when you are able to live out purpose and clear of your intentions. Article: Last Summer Pharrell Williams released the song Happy, which was on his highly anticipated 2013 album Girl but also featured on the Despicable Me 2 Soundtrack. This song defined a summer and bought the concept of intentional happiness to lives of many. On the other hand this song played so often that hearing it made some people want to do anything but be happy. Repetition can remove the passion from a song and too much repetition removes the color from the lyrics, ultimately becoming a series of colorless words. It can become this way with apologies as well. Hearing I am sorry over and over again hijacks our trust instincts, wears on your ability to authentically forgive and can force us to wonder if the apology is meaningful or a just another means to an end. 1) Say “I need to apologize” It is important to actually apologize. Some people will try to avoid actually saying I’m sorry due to their egos. Apologizing is about suspending your ego. 2) “I am apologizing for …” Being able to acknowledge verbally and describe your offense is true accountability. Practice separately step 1 and step 2 some people will have the tendency to mush these together but they should be practiced as two separate steps. 3) “Will you forgive me?” It is critical that you ask to be forgiven this also reinforces that you are willing to be held accountable and it highlights that this about a relationship and not just one-person feelings. 4) “what can I do to atone for my mistake.” For the complete article check Urban Socialite on facebook at https://www.facebook.com/urbansocialites?ref=bookmarks 3pm Friday  October 3rd or Intimacy and colour Facebook page.  00:59:00Truth Talk Feat Intimacy Colournosorry, forgiveness, communication, relationships, gayJoin us this sunday as we discuss a recent article featured on Urban SocialitesColorless Words: The art of the apology and the communication breakdown. Love is Freedom from judgment and shame and concealing our most vulnerable selves or what we see as imperfections is one of the many ways we have learned to navigate this dog eat dog world but it doesn’t have to be that way. We can live in fear live in our shame and remain hidden in the dark and never make love with the lights on. Or we can make a personal commitment to work on our own fear and shame, combat it with love and acceptance wear a little less of the mask each day stepping out of the dark and closer to the light until we feel the Sun shining on our full selves reflecting the essence of our truth to the world. With this said, HIV is a real important issue to tackle particularly, because HIV has been such an issue for men who have sex with other men. The host of Truth talk has spent the vast majority of their careers combating HIV on the front lines, so when the opportunity came to do a show, HIV was not at the top of list. Although It has never been the intention of the show to exploit HIV positive people or ignore it all together, as a barrier we thought it is best to deal with the tangential issues that promote HIV transmission and decrease opportunities for viral suppression, as this impact quality of life. On this episode of Truth Talk, we will break this thing by addressing HIV directly but in a different context.  Most people blame lack of knowledge for the spread of HIV, others say self esteem while some say access to condoms. What if these are only tangential reasons? What if you contracted HIV while working in  the field of HIV prevention, while knowing the risk and having access or even while managing to have some functional level of self esteem? What would this say about how we ought to be approaching HIV prevention? Challenging stigma? And working with communities.
