I began having health problems when I was 21 but only after suffering a brainstem stroke in '96 did I get a diagnosis of Lupus. Due to my frequent moves with my Army helicopter pilot husband and changing health status I had to reinvent myself every few years. This has included Fine artist and Musician teaching, directing, and performing in voice, piano and guitar. When my health would interrupt things I began to teach and paint out of my home studio. I now live a very full life from a powered wheelchair. Until my health worsened my husband Glenn and I were the Lupus facilitators for Jacksonville. I continue to be an advocate for Lupus through my art showings and social media as in Facebook. I hope to encourage others with chronic illnesses to get out of bed and find something new that God wants you to do. I now teach piano, voice, guitar and art from my home studios and create fine art on an international level. I donate 10% of my art profits to the Florida Lupus Chapter. My website is www.asbellarts.com.
