Putting The Palestinian Freedom Rides in Context

On the morning of Tuesday November 15, a group of mostly young Palestinian activists will attempt to board buses that take Israeli settlers from the occupied West Bank to Jerusalem, part of an effort to highlight restrictions on movement and the segregated, dual system of law imposed on Palestinians by Israel’s occupation regime.

The organizers of this campaign were inspired by the American anti-segregation Freedom Riders of the1960s, and have drawn praise from veterans of the US Civil Rights Movement.

Please join us as we discuss the Palestinian Freedom Rides and what they portend for the future of the Palestinian struggle for freedom with one of the Palestinian organizers and Bill Fletcher Jr.

Bill Fletcher Jr., executive editor of BlackCommentator.com, senior scholar with the Institute for Policy Studies, and the co-author of "Solidarity Divided."
