New Year, New You! with guest co-host Veda Hightower-Green

Veda Green is best described as “Excellence in Action!” She is a gifted motivational speaker, dynamic trainer, passionate teacher, and founder of Building Brighter Kids.

Veda is currently an 8th grade science teacher and has been teaching Math and Science on the middle and high school level for over 15 years. While working in education has been comfortable, she yearns to do something more! Every day she has watched children struggle with their academics, lose their love of learning, and give up on education altogether! They were not just slipping through the cracks! These cracks were quickly becoming gaping holes swallowing her students whole! As the time went by she could no longer sit and wait for someone else to “fix” the educational system. She decided to start fixing it herself! But what could she do? The answer was found in her own children! After looking at their successful academic performance, she was determined to share the “secret” with every parent she knew! From this passion came Building Brighter Kids.

Now not only does she teach the children, she teaches and trains the parents to assume the role of primary educator in their children’s lives. Her experience as a dedicated teacher and an involved parent has given her a platform from which to deliver the powerful message…“It is better to build a child than it is to repair an adult”.

When she’s not busy fulfilling her Building Brighter Kids dream or teaching science, she enjoys reading, baking, spending time with friends, and traveling.
