The resume: In the 80's, the journey began with recorded music. LIVE, John has opened for Dave Brubeck, Rosemary Clooney, and Ramsey Lewis - who remains a friend & collaborator. In '93, our guest was tapped by Frank Sinatra for his international tour - then joined him for that special 80th Birthday celebration at Carnegie Hall.
Four projects with RCA - then John signed with Telarc in 2000. Here, his already wonderful reputation - and repertoire - expanded. The work alongside Legends flowed as did effortless playing, Interpretations of fellow masters like Jobim, Joni Mitchell and the Beatles: he was astounding. John's "Midnight McCartney" followed a partnership with Sir Paul on his "Kisses on the Bottom." Months after work together, Paul asked The Other John to record his lesser known tunes to suit a Jazz style. Mr. P. loved the idea and so did critics.
