Hybrid Jazz From Trish Hennessey - with Darryl F. Walker & LeiLani Vidal!

Our wonderfully charismatic guest, Darryl F. Walker, has visited us more than once on "Hybrid Jazz."  THIS time is truly special. It's our first episode of the year - so there's that.  And he'll have an incredible Al Jarreau tribute show to discuss that's coming up at Spaghettini's in early February - can you imagine that vibe?!  ALSO, Darryl is going to introduce us to an amazing woman who has an all-female band called The Saxations.  Dr. LeiLani Vidal is also a chiropractor and a multi-instrumentalist, specializing in sax.  Her story should be made into a MOVIE - and she has been IN a movie!  Let's talk about ALL of this on Monday, January 28th - it's going to FLY by!

Some of Darryl's magical background: singing since he was TWO, his hands got busy with saxophone and he became a multiple threat.  He is known to MANY a musician in California and beyond - and by beyond I mean internationally.  Ask Luis Miguel about our friend's talent!  Ask Greg Adams and the other stellar artists who flesh out East Bay Soul.  They will tell you how Darryl's voice and saxophone make that group POP & sizzle.  He has his own band, too, which will be on display at Spag's via the tribute show.  And he frequently collaborates with another former HJ guest, Keith Andrew!  We've featured Darryl's voice frequently on the show - he's a favorite.  Old School, full of passion and truth. That's partly why it's a privilege to welcome him back!

LeiLani might drop by, too!  Darryl turned me onto her music and I am SOLD.  She has paid MAJOR dues in her life and in the music business - and you can hear heartfelt work pay off while listening to The Saxations.  From a little girl with a physical challenge to a full-fledged, empowered woman with talent to spare, Dr. Vidal will WOW you!
