So, how important was it to secure a visit with Gillian Margot and Geoffrey Keezer?  Enough for this radio host to program a show for MONDAY!  Usually, if you have listened to the show when it happens LIVE, we air on Tuesday and Thursday.  But the pull of Geoffrey and Gillian was so strong....and they have events coming up - so it was a no brainer to book them when it was convenient - these two are BUSY!

Gillian's story begins in Toronto - where she studied under Jazz Legends like Oscar Peterson and Freddy Cole.  She expanded her horizons to included the USA, Australia and Asia - where this Lady is BIG!  In 2010, "A Pink Filled Sky" was released and the buzz grew regarding this multi-talented goddess.  Gillian has shared the stage with Sting, Kathleen Battle, Robert Glasper, and Jeremy Pelt - who produced her most recent, "Black Butterfly."  He says that her "storytelling, tone and sincerity" are what made producing this album a joy.  When you HEAR her, that's what YOU will experience!

Geoffrey Keezer has been nominated for a Grammy more than once.  This is probably no surpise since this wondrous pianist has been playing professionally since his teens.  With Art Blakey at age 18!  And touring with Joshua Redman, Benny Golson, and Ray Brown in his 20's.  OH - Art Farmer, too :)  We can't leave out David Sanborn, Christian McBride and Chris Botti - that's a beautiful musical relationship right there.  Geoffrey will be on the road with Chris soon again - so we better hurry up this interview, right?!  One important and interesting description of both Geoffrey and Gillian: they've explored music way beyond the borders of Jazz.  Just HOW explorative they've been will delight you!  We'll see you at ONE p.m. Eastern on 7/18/16 - our guests arrive in the next hour!
