Once again, I'm obliged to the wonderful Rick Scott for making the introduction to another stellar artist.  Peggy Duquesnel came to the attention of yours truly when her CD arrived in the mail.  Hard copy CDS are so much better than buying online.  You can feel the actual grooves of the packaging as well as the spirit intended with the liner notes and personnel mentions.

Such is the case with "All I Ask For Christmas."  A double album, there are 21 songs - both instrumental and vocal arrangements.  And a few surprises, which delights a former Country Radio DJ (LOL!).  Mostly, these are creative and loving interpretations of treasured holiday favorites - with four original songs that sound as though they have been with us forever.  Jazz as a base - but with other over and undertones.  Hey, Peggy has been doing Jazz PLUS for over 25 years.  And getting respect for her multiple endeavors in her music career.  Pianist, composer, singer and producer here, she has some friends and admirers to help her - including Brian Bromberg on bass and Rick Braun on flugelhorn.

Classically trained, Peggy gained the attention of some international notables through the years - including Henry Mancini and Dionne Warwick.  She has been the stadium keyboardist for the Anaheim Angels and The Mighty Ducks...she has been able to oversee numerous musical projects as leader, including an EP earlier this year that featured both Jeff Lorber and Jimmy Haslip.

When this versatile and engaging performer (and director of Jazz Studies!) joins us on the show, it will start to truly feel as though the holiday season is here.  Tracks from the new album?  You better believe it.  Maybe a hot toddy in the Chat Room, too.  Depending on whether Santa says that you've been good :)  See you at one - that's when the fun begins.  Peggy joins us at TWO!
