One has a story worthy of a film - and that's no joke.  The other is a young trumpet player who could STAR in a film: about his idol, Clifford Brown!

Michael Austin and Theljon Allen return for a joint interview on the next show - and they have a cause for you to support.  Michael founded an organization called In This Together Inc.  A benefit for the charity will take place SOON in our region.  A beautiful idea was birthed from a visit to Durban, South Africa - and Michael decided to implement change in Baltimore.

Theljon caught ths excitement and is working with Michael to further fuel the vision of a hometown with less at-risk youth...the development of people, programs and resources for the underserved is urgent.  And these hometown heroes want us to help - in any way we can.

Michael's real-life story involves being incarcerated for over two decades for a crime that he did not commit.  When he was pardoned in 2003, he found his voice.  In TWO ways: he decided to give back to the community, knowing he would be healed in this manner.  AND he wanted to sing!  You will hear what a wise choice that was - and you'll also hear Theljon Allen's trumpet.  NOT your Daddy's horn, for sure! Steeped in the tradition but hearing the beat of the street, this young man with a solid reputation is getting buzz from his CD, "Universal Language."

In ANY language, caring for our brothers and sisters doesn't need a whole lot of words.  We'll try to mix music into our discussion on "Hybrid Jazz" - so that you can hear what kinds of magic both our guests produce.  By the way, with Michael and Theljon at this event coming up?  Craig Alston and Tim Green - who have also visited the show!  It will be like "Old Home Week" :)

And our songs will reflect celebration of that fact.  Join us!
