The first volume running from 1989 to 2007 with over 200 issues brought amazing creative teams to illustrate different aspects of the Batman and the mental and physical struggle he faces protecting Gotham. On this week's episode, Londyn and co-host Adam Silverstein we will discuss a few of the most memorable arcs within the first volume of this DC Comics series. We'll take a look how these 'early, unknown' and some re-written tales from LOTDK not only demonstrate the hero Batman represents, but also the influences it had on future Batman comics and other visual media. This show also marks the last time Adam Silverstein will be the regular co-host on 'History of the Batman with Londyn!' But something that seems special to just his comic book stories are the trophies that stay within the Dark Knight's underground cavern. Even before the 'Bat cave' existed, Batman and Robin the Boy Wonder had a 'Hall of Trophies' in Wayne Manor, collected items from past adventures that reflected their triumphs over injustice. In this week's episode, myself and my co-host / producer and engineer Mason Booker dive into a brief history of Batman's trophies and their evolution in comic books. Looking at Batman's incredible 76 year history, many of the Batman Family members have died and come back to life, sometimes even by surprising the audience. In recent New 52 comics, Bruce Wayne's Batman apparently died alongside the Joker and now another is the Dark Knight of Gotham City. But this isn't the first or even second time that Batman has died in DC Comics. In this week's podcast, Londyn and co-host Adam Silverstein will look at ten different times our hero has died or has seemingly died in comic books in the last 76 years of Pre-New 52 continuity. The Batman represents the ultimate human, with peak physical and mental capacities yet he still has emotions and flaws. This list will demonstrate that even this dark vigilante cannot hide forever from his own humanity or from the glooming shadow of the Grim Reaper. Produced by Mason Booker and Adam Silverstein. It isn't just because she is a classic beauty, nor her intense and at times comical approach to being madly in love. When Paul Dini and Bruce Timm created this character for 1992's episode "Joker's Favor" for the television show 'Batman: The Animated Series', their one shot cameo became an overnight sensation. With audiences' eyes glued to the small screen, Harley, in her own unique way, teaches about friendship, love and insanity in the DC Universe. There is no wonder why she ultimately became part of Batman's comic book canon. In this week's episode, "10 Stories Every Puddin' Must Know: A Harley Quinn Retrospect", my co-host Adam Silverstein, engineer Mason Booker and I discuss some of the most memorable tales of Ms. Quinn on television, in comic books and video games. We break down why she became one of DC Comics' most beloved psychotic characters. From today's New 52 status to fans awaiting her big screen debut in 2016's "Suicide Squad", just as our hero the Batman has evolved over the past 75+ years, so has this flirtatiously fierce femme fatale over the last two decades. In fact, their initial decades long relationship in comic books centered on friendship and a common purpose of fighting for the greater good.
