"Straight Talk" Episode No.82 - Contractor Extortion, What To Do.

Over the years of providing dental office design professional services, we have seen and are constantly asked about what to do with a contractor that has placed a demand for more money on the dentist.  This demand could be in the form of an official change order or a more informal request when conditions are such that the contractor is trying to get more money for their services after the project has started construction.  This could even be done at the very end of the construction schedule when you are the most at risk. 

Tonight, we will discuss whether or not to pay these demands/requests.  You have options, but the most important is to be prepared and not allow the project and the contractor to corner you into a desperate position.
