Correct Hormonal Balancing Can Mean Life or Death.

    in Health

Millions of women are experiencing negative hormonal symptoms earlier and earlier. Even if you feel healthy, energetic and strong, hormone imbalance can build up over-time, until it takes over. Fat burning hormones, such as "Leptin" are the worst health destroyers if they are out of balance. Leptin is a hormone you may have heard of before, since it is intricately related to insulin. In fact, leptin works opposite to insulin - insulin stores fat and leptin burns fat. Insulin is secreted when you eat food, especially foods high in sugar, and it stores energy from food as “fat” in your body. Tune in Wednesday Nov. 15, at 7PM for the Rest Of The Story.

Can Writing An Amends Letter Help You Achieve Massive Weight Loss Success

    in Health

A few weeks ago I was asked to consider a compelling thought process by my spiritual adviser.
I was asked this very question. "Would you be open to the concept that you have created every aspect of your life that you feel is not working for you," I asked Steve to clarify what he meant.
If you don't like how your wife speaks to you, you created that.
If your business isn't running like a well-oiled machine and isn't as profitable as you'd like, you created that.
If your relationships with your children, family members, friends, customers are not flourishing, you created that.
If you don't like the way you look and feel, you created that.
He went on and on covering every complaint I have uttered about my life during our past sessions and ask me one last question...
DO YOU WANT A BETTER, HAPPIER, HEALTHIER MORE LOVING LIFE?
ARE YOU WILL TO TAKE ON A TASK THAT WILL LEAD YOU TO THE LIFE YOU SO RICHLY DESERVE?
    I answered YES,
Steve then ask me what part of my life did I want to work on first, and without hesitation, I said my relationship with my fantastic wife, Jayne.
So he asked me to write an amends letter to Jayne, apologizing to her for anything and everything I've done to create what was missing from our marriage, relationship, and friendship that had changed from when we first started dating.
So I had to go back to the beginning more than 17 years ago all the way to present day.
The exercise was very powerful, it often brought me to tears, and what happened next I will share with you live in the podcast.
    Namaste,
The light in me sees, meets and greets the amazing light in you.
    Colin

    Michael Hager - Hager Health

    in Health

Michael Hager was diagnosed with HIV in November 2002 when he was just 22 years old. Already grappling with Crohn's Disease at the time, Michael was completely unprepared to handle HIV and finish his coursework and forge ahead to medical school. He decided to lean into HIV and started working for the Boston Public Health Commission AIDS Program to learn more about his circumstances and others in similar situations. He was there for five years in multiple capacities from managing Ryan White Part A primary care, mental health, and transportation contracts to helping to manage the Boston HIV Services Planning Council. After completing his public health degree, he briefly worked in India on several projects, including Global Fund to Fight AIDS, TB, and Malaria Round 8 proposal writing. In a whirlwind.  Michael has been with the NY AIDS Institute National Quality Center where he has led several national campaigns, including the in+care Campaign and end+disparities Learning Exchange in addition to key multi-state learning collaboratives, including the HIV Cross-Part Care Continuum Collaborative (H4C). In his spare time, he has been building a charitable social community of gay men living with HIV in New York called, impac+NYC and overseen its transformation from a weekly happy hour into a formal 501(c)(3) non-profit organization with multiple community activities and social outlets. In addition, he has been ramping up his own private consultancy to launch on September 1, 2017, which will focus on domestic and international peer learning around HIV and quality of care.

Ernestine Shepherd - World's Oldest Female Bodybuilder/Guinnes Book World Record

    in Health

Ernestine Shepherd (June 16, 1936) was the oldest competitive female bodybuilder in the world, as declared by the Guinness Book of World Records in 2010 and 2011.
Ms. Shepherd is in better shape than most people, decades her junior. Up at 3 a.m. every morning, she spends her days running, lifting weights and working out.  She also works as a certified personal trainer at her gym.
Feeling better than she did at 40,”Bodybuilding champion Ernestine Shepherd shows us that ”being out of shape” as we age truly is merely an option — NOT a mandate!  She is a role model not just for senior women everywhere, but for every one of us. .
Inspired by Sylvester Stallone she is a die-hard “Rocky” fan, and fan of First Lady Michelle Obama.  She says Sylvester Stallone is her man, and she would love to meet him one day.  Also, she is looking for an excuse to meet the First Lady Michelle Obama and help her with her work on controlling obesity, who she calls “so beautiful, inside and out.”  She feels they are on the same mission and should combine their work.
Her diet consists of 1,700 calories a day, mostly from boiled egg whites, chicken, vegetables and a liquid egg white drink, and she runs about 80 miles a week; she does not take supplements.  She is trained by former Mr. Universe Yohannie Shambourger.
