Hello World,

Shake, Shake, Shake It Up!

Welcome to Happy Talk Radio.  This is Gloria Stanley, your host with the most happy talk from coast-to-coast.  I got the music in me, and Matt Fox, Deputy Director, of Make Music Alliance will chat with me about why right here on Happy Talk.

Make Music Day all started 37 years ago in France in 1982.

"Make Music is a free celebration of music around the world on June 21st, the Summer Solstice. Launched in 1982 in France as the Fête de la Musique, it is now held on the same day in more than 1,000 cities in 120 countries.

Completely different from a typical music festival, Make Music is open to anyone who wants to take part. Every kind of musician — young and old, amateur and professional, of every musical persuasion — pours onto streets, parks, plazas, and porches to share their music with friends, neighbors, and strangers. All of it is free and open to the public.

And on June 21, 2019 the world was introduced to Make Music Day Worldwide theme song, "Shake, Shake, Shake It Up" at Make Music Day Macon Downtown Boogie.  The song was composed/performed by Gloria Stanley, and recorded by Joey Stuckey, Owner of Shadow Sound Studio in Macon, GA and streamed live around the world on June 21.

After years of spontaneous musical merriment on June 21, Make Music Alliance was thrilled to bring the spirit of Make Music Day to December 21, the Winter Solstice.

Make Music Winter, first launched in New York in 2011, is a free, musical event each December 21st that turns audiences into music makers."
