Just as the week of celebration came to a close, the Gullah/Geechee Nation shifted to hurricane preparedness mode. Today, Tropical Storm Isaias is making its way through parts of the Gullah/Geechee Nation and may again become a hurricane and make landfall before it leaves the northern area of the Gullah/Geechee Nation. Yet, in the eye of the storm, the leaders of the Gullah/Geechee Nation are contining in their vision to keep their nation sustained and thriving for centuries to come.
