Tune in to the #GullahGeechee Cultural Heritage Awareness Month episode "Museumization vs Movement: Selling the Sea Islands" on Gullah/Geechee Riddim Radio.  Queen Quet, Chieftess of the Gullah/Geechee Nation (www.QueenQuet.com) will discuss the on-going battle to control and sell the narrative of the Sea Islands.  Most museums and institutions in the Lowcountry and the south continue to attempt to sell cultural heritage tourism, but packaged such that disallows the narratives of freedom fighters and uprisings.  The continued creation of new house museums requires close examinations when it comes to who is presenting the stories therein.  Gullah/Geechee leaders continue to stand for telling ourstory.  Yeddi bout disya conflict wid wha de tourism agencies and states da do.
