Sustaining the #GullahGeechee Sea Islands

Tune in to hear the latest efforts to stop destructionment from further encroaching the Sea Islands of the Gullah/Geechee Nation as Queen Quet, Chieftess of the Gullah/Geechee Nation broadcast on Gullah/Geechee Riddim Radio.  The Gullah/Geechee Nation is already battling seismic gun testing and offshore drilling in the face of sea level rise and other negative climate change impacts.   Now historic St. Helena Island is dealing with another proposal for destructionment coming to an adjacent small Sea Island and Lady's Island is overgrown and continues to be annexed into townships so tht density can increase there.  

The Gullah/Geechee Sea Island Coalition continues to be a leading voice on these matters and continues to consitently battle destructionment.  Queen Quet recently returned from Washington DC fighting for heirs property and is currently working to fund another journey to UN meetings and for the lauch of the Climate Mobilization Network.  The Gullah/Geechee Sea Island Coalition has consistently supported these journeys in order to keep Gullah/Geechee culture alive on the Sea Island.  Learn how you can become a member and supporter on this episode.
