The Rich Man and Lazarus

Welcome, to the Grover Weaver Ministries' weekly online class for June 24, 2018, where we mix religion and politics.  I am Grover Weaver your minister and Sunday School teacher, this week the International Sunday School Lesson offers for our consideration another parable: The parable of the rich man and Lazarus is a well-known parable of Jesus appearing in the Gospel of Luke. in a contemporary setting the rich man could be a country and the poor man could be the poverty of a people it certainly could be allegory for a nation such as North Korea who starves its people.

If the relationship of the rich man and the poor man's life and after death was spoken as a narration and not as a parable to the people that day as many scholars of scriptures believe it, myself included, because none of the other Jesus' parables gives names to the actors. 

This short story takes the listeners beyond death, in my opinion, it gives us a look-see in the ''after-life'' where death opens up a whole new life of awareness and regretfulness connected to the '' old'' life.

My take away from the theme of the lesson is your deeds follow you through the grave; 2 Corinthians 5:10, is confirmed ''For we must all appear before the judgment seat of Christ; that every one may receive the things done in his body, according to that he hath done, whether it be good or bad.''

 Trump's zero-tolerance family separation policy of arresting the parents and caging the child in a concentration camp is not happening on the Northern Border that the United States shares with Canada but the Southern Border that is shared with Mexico. 

He is holding these Hispanic immigrant children as hostages to be used as bargain chips with Democrats for the wall he has promised to build along the US border with Mexico to his racist supporters to Make America White Again...
