Grooming Careers with Donna Owens, CMG and GroomTeam USA Gold Medalist

Donna Owens is an internationally recognized grooming educator, speaker, judge, and the lead instructor for Healthy Spot Styling Academy in Studio City California. Donna has over 35 years of experience in the pet industry and she is a USA Groom Team gold medalist alumni and IPG Certified Master Groomer. Donna has won over 60 grooming awards during her competitive grooming career and was nominated for the Cardinal Crystal Achievement Award. She was featured on the cover of Groomer to Groomer magazine and has been a featured writer. Donna bred, trained, and handled Champion German Wirehaired Pointers and has shown Poodles in the AKC conformation ring.  Donna earned a teaching credential from the University of San Diego and is a Health Science Major. She’s taught animal science, pet first aid & CPR, pet business management, and grooming for over 17 years.  She was the former teacher of Hacienda La Puente Adult Education grooming program which was awarded “Program of Excellence” in 2006.  In 2009, Donna earned an accommodation from the California Board of Education for her development of a model program, and during her tenure, she received the “Teacher of The Year” award.  Donna’s vast knowledge of the pet industry and animal sciences, combined with her passion for teaching, inspires students to excel in the art of grooming.
