As president of MZM Construction Co, Inc., Marjorie Perry is an innovator and role model for women in non-traditional fields. Her Newark firm, founded in 1992, and has been cited for consistently completing construction projects within budget and on time. Recognized as successful entrepreneur, her company’s General Contracting work for such client includes the New Jersey Performing Arts Center, Delta Airlines, Port Authority of NY/NJ, and Verizon, Continental Airlines, Marriott and proudly participated in the construction for the New Meadowlands Stadium for the Giant and Jets (now Called the MetLife) .

She starting her own public relations firm in 1985 and joined MZM in operations. When the firm’s founders decided to leave the company they founded, she bought them out, hired her own team and negotiated new contracts for her firm. Since then, MZM has posted a multimillion dollar bottom line for the past 19 years and the company continues to grow under her leadership and direction.

She has been featured on MSNBC and other business shows and is  known for her expertise in the current business climate. She is certified by the states of NJ and NY to haul contaminated waste. Recently became 8A certified Nov. 2010 and had booked $6 M within the last 12 months doing sole source contracts. She is also an adjunct professor, teaching business time permitting.

She has a B.A. degree from Kean University, completed Leadership for the 21st century at the Tuck School of Business, Dartmouth College, and a MBA from New Jersey Institute of Technology. Named top 50 women in business 2007 in the State of New Jersey and top 25 Entrepreneur’s in New Jersey 2008. Currently received A901 license from NJ Dept of Environmental Protection and recently appointed to NJ Economic Development Board By Governor Chris Christie.
