Call in to speak with the host
A little over a year after Al Qaeda's September 11, 2001, attacks on New York City's World Trade Center and the Pentagon in Arlington, Virginia, appeared in 2003 the book Through Our Enemies' Eyes: Osama bin Laden, Radical Islam, and the Future of America. First published anonymously, its author was later revealed as Michael Scheuer, who was chief of the Bin Laden Issue Station at the CIA's Counterterrorism Center from 1996 to 1999 and then a Special Adviser to the station's head from September 2001 to November 2004. Twenty years after 9/11, former career CIA agent Clare Lopez will join show host Andrew E. Harrod to reflect on Scheuer and the CIA in the fight against global jihadist threats. Among other others to be discussed, what did Scheuer and the CIA get right, what wrong? Did political correctness hamper freedom's defense?
