The election stuff is heating up. First, in some states that are still counting., President Trump appears to be narrowing the margin. And of course, several states will be doing mandatory recounts. The question is whether or not fraudulent votes, as well as systemic voting issues, will either be acknowledged or corrected.

While increased COVID-19 cases are puasing, postponing or cancelling football games both in colleg and the NFL, it's amazing that the COVID-related absence of Clemson's Trevor Lawrence last Saturday wasn't enough the ND Fighting Irish to the top of the polls over an idle Alabama. Bama, by the way, figures into this week's cancellations. Maybe THAT will do it. Meanwhile, don't count Clemson out just yet.

In PoliSports, several professional athletes bought lunch and other goodies for election and postal workers this past week. Quid pro quo on behalf of Quid Pro Joe?

Finally, we slaute our country's veterans who have served in our Armed Forces at home and abroad, those who are still with us and those who have passed, and especially those who gave their last full measure.
