"We, the jury, find George Zimmerman--- NOT GUILTY."
This past Saturday, the nation watched as the verdict was finally read. After weeks of following the Trayvon Martin case, we learned that justice may be in theory rather than in practice. This verdict alone caused uproar in all communities--- mainly in minority, underrepresented ones. As a black woman, I find it disheartening that the life of a young black man was not valued enough in the face of our current justice system.
Community Protests, Organized Rallies, Petitions, Action from the NAACP, Town Hall Meetings, & Black Leaders have all taken a stand against injustice.
HOW DO YOU FEEL YOU CAN MAKE A DIFFERENCE IN LIEU OF THE TRAYVON MARTIN CASE THAT GAINED NATIONAL ATTENTION OF THE ONGOING INJUSTICE WITHIN THE BLACK COMMUNITY?
WE MUST STAND......TOGETHER!
