The GirlTrek 2016 Trekking Season starts on April 1, and National Walking Day is April 6.
On April 6, #NationalWalkingDay, please join GirlTrek co-founders T. Morgan Dixon and Vanessa Garrison for a virtual lunch with Aletha Maybank, MD, MPH, the Associate Commissioner, NYC Department of Health and Mental Hygiene, where they will discuss the importance of walking, physcial activity and the need for #BlackGirlHealing.
The virtual lunch begins at noon ESt and ends at 1 p.m. EST.
Dr. Maybank's is the co-founder of "We Are Doc McStuffins" a movement created by African-American female physicians.
