The Ministry of Parenthood

When we first became parents, an incredible sense of amazement, love, and responsibility hit us. However, all too quickly the rejoicing over being able to share in the act of creation with God faded and we were deceived into focusing on our role as a provider, entertainer, and protector. Somehow, in the crunch of changing diapers, playing hours of peekaboo, keeping our kids from getting hurt, and all the other jobs we performed, we started to lose sight of one important fact: That we were given the chance to share in creation so that we could be God’s ministers and help our children learn to love Him and follow His teachings. So, instead of devoting our time to the real Ministry of Parenthood, we become bogged down and spend way too much time working to provide and entertain our kids. In this program, we will reflect on what’s really important to teach and discuss God-given methods for raising His children.
