"Encouraging Word - 30 Days of Uplift" :

I couldn’t help chuckling as I pulled into the church parking lot. “David Stearman Tonight,” read the marquis, “Not a discouraging Word Will Be Heard.”

This was not the first time I’d been accused of being a Pollyanna, although my natural temperament was really not to blame. My optimism stems from God’s Word. The daily study of verses like Jeremiah 29:11: “For I know the plans I have for you,” declares the LORD, “plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future,” tends to affect one’s outlook over time.

That’s why I wrote this devotional. I want to encourage you with some of the scriptures God has used to encourage me. Focusing on His positive promises generates faith for a brighter future. And we all need more faith, since life on this planet can prove challenging, and faith is the victory that overcomes the world.

So take a few minutes each day for the next thirty days to meditate with me on these uplifting verses. I promise you, not a discouraging word will be heard.

About David Stearman:

I'm a professional songwriter/former recording artist turned novelist, who likes to write adventures set in exotic locales. I have a special love for the tropics--jungles and beaches--that's reflected in both my stories and personal life. (In the form of hobbies like breeding parrots, growing orchids, and keeping saltwater reef aquariums.)
I travel widely, striving to write about the places I visit in a way that will make readers feel they've been there too. I've always seen this world as a place of wonder, surpassed only by the people who inhabit it and it's divine Creator.
