The conflict between the poor brother and the rich abuser comes to its climax in James 5. Ill-gotten silver and gold would simply "rust" away and be useless in the last days, the days of the judge, the soon-coming days they faced.
On the other hand, those abused by them could take comfort, knowing that the Judge was at the door already; but they needed to "endure until the end" (Matt. 24:13).
Patience, like in Job, has its reward; because the Lord is full of compassion.
