Life is filled with choices; many of them are painfully difficult. It is these difficult ones that most definately must be made.
Following Jesus "outside the camp" was not an inconsequential choice. Emotional connections to a former way of life don't sever easily. Societal repercussions can be harsh. And, family alienation can be worse.
Still, where He leads is where life with God is found. "Follow Him and live; stay behind and be lost." It puts the choice in the simple terms of its stark reality.
The comforting thought is this: The God who brought Jesus back from death was busy equipping His followers to succeed!
