Beverly F. Smith-Brown is a Native Washingtonian born and raised in a single parent home on the Southeast Side of the city. Being the youngest of nine children growing up in the 80’s was very interesting to say the least.  Before finding her Savior Mrs. Brown endured teen pregnancy, homelessness, domestic violence and the death of her love ones. Mrs. Brown is a woman that holds many titles being a mom, a grandmother and devoted wife are the titles she cherishes the most. However, Mrs. Brown is the CEO and Founder of Momma’s Safe Haven, a non-profit organization that was founded on the need of support from the community they encourages self-love, higher education and self-employment. She has developed several programs geared to improve the lives of others: DC’s Youth has Talent, Never Give Up Workshop, Black Wall Street “SOUTHEAST”, Ward 7 Writers writing with a purpose and Momma’s Mission Retreat.  Beverly is the author of He Kept Me a book about her testimony of overcoming obstacles. She is the director, producer and creator of a short film “Still I Rise” inspired by the poem by Dr. Maya Angelou.  Mrs. Brown spent 20 years in the classroom as an Early Childhood Teacher and now she has left the classroom to go out and motivate the world as a full-time Motivational Speaker.  Mrs. Beverly F. Smith-Brown enjoys traveling, networking and spending quality time with friends and family.
