The religions that man invents are all religions of self-justification; every single one of them. That's what they all have in common. The radical difference between these and New Testament faith is this: it is GOD who justifies, and God alone. And He does it as a gift undeservedly given. I ask people all the time, and I mean even CHRISTIANS - church-going Christians. "On what basis are you justified? If you stood before God and He say to you 'Why should I let you into My heaven?' " And guess what? Most of 'em answer like a Pharisee: " 'Cause I'm a good person. I do my best." So then I say, "Well, how do you think JESUS fits into that whole picture, if at all?" And they answer, "Oh, yeah. Jesus. Well, I believe in Him." And they answer as if Jesus was just an after-thought.  In essence, they  base their salvation on self-justification. Tonight we talk about a man who was tempted to do just that, but God steered him clear of that error, at the last minute: Job. Tune in and take notes! Your host Rev. Rick Anderson, on "Jewish Roots", each Thursday at 9:30 pm EST. LIVE Internet radio. Listen through www.scripturesdramatized.com. To call with a comment: 347-324-5759. "FOUGCREW" radio.
