Yet, we are called not to live a fear driven life, but rather a life of deeply rooted faith and trust in our loving, all powerful, caring Father in heaven. Yes, He is your Father, He is my Father. We all innately desire safety and security. But, the things of this world cannot fulfil this cavernous desire, this seemingly unquenchable thirst for love and safety. Only God our Father of Mercies can fulfill this intense yearning for complete safety and security. Jesus tells us not to worry, and He tells us that His Father is our Father, and that He is seeing to all that we need.    May I share a brief story? Not very long ago I was tucking my daughter Shealagh, age eight in to bed. She was wrapped up like a cocoon in her blanket as comfortable as could be. I sat on her bed and bent over to bless her with Holy Water and hug her. I was somehow moved to whisper in her ear, “You’re safe. … You’re safe.” She responded with such a peaceful, heavenly, comfortable look and she said, “I am safe with …you….Daddy.” Isn’t this how our Loving Father in heaven acts with us? Well, I want to tell you with complete assurance, God, your Father is embracing …you… at this very moment, and longing for…you to hear His words for…you, and only ….you, as if ….you are the only person He ever created. He is whispering to you individually, “You are safe, you’re safe.” And our response should be, “Yes, dear Daddy, I am always safe with you” as we experience His profound peace. And as long as we don’t push God away He will see to every good in our life and see us safely into heaven where we will behold His Face and experience His divine embrace for all eternity. 00:30:00Forming Faithful FamiliesnoForming faithful families, littleton, james littleton, kathleen littleton,FamilyThere is a prevalence of inordinate fear and anxiety in western culture today. We find dignity in God’s will. Nowhere else! I’m afraid the so-called “death with dignity” movement has the potential to become a rapidly growing problem. We Christians and all those who wish to follow the truth of Jesus and His Church or even just the truth of natural law have a duty to do all we can to bring the light of truth to the culture on this vital life issue.  Jesus literally put the death we fear so much to death so we can be happy with Him forever. Nothing good comes from trying to take shortcuts form the cross.  Our heavenly Father is bringing a great good out of our pain and suffering when we unite it to Jesus on the cross. As very horrible as it was I thank God for my cancer. It was a gift like no other gift that had the efficacy of bringing me closer to God than I ever would have any other way. It also brought my family closer to God. And there is no price too high to grow in union with God. I can frankly say that I would not trade my cancer journey for anything.   00:44:00Forming Faithful Familiesnodeath,Catholic,Christian,Bible,Pro-lifeTrue death with dignity is trusting in our Lord God that He is seeing to the perfect timing of our personal death. He leads and serves. He is the head of the family, but in the sense that he is the head to the degree that he serves and sacrifices. He is the living, active image of Christ on the cross to his wife and children.   “Husbands should love their wives just as Christ loved the Church and sacrificed himself for her to make her holy” (Ephesians 5:25–26, JB). The Church proclaims the profound truth that marriage is indissoluble. Like Jesus, whose bride is the Church, we are called to stay with our spouse until death. This commitment becomes attainable with the graces that are always available from the Sacrament of Matrimony. If God asks something of us, He always gives us the help we need to complete our mission. We need more finishers in the world. Jesus did not desert His mission when the going got tough. He expected it and embraced it. Marriage can be challenging in many ways. May we begin by sharing that we at Forming Faithful Families are SINNNERS. As SINNERS, we often fail, and turn with confidence to our always Merciful Lord, Jesus. Jesus came not to call and save the righteous, but sinners. “And indeed I did not come to call the virtuous, but sinners.” (Matthew 9:13) We have noticed that there has been ever increasing and widespread confusion and controversy in society over the matter of homosexuality popularly referred to as LGBT, meaning lesbian, gay, bisexual, and transgender. What we intend to do in this program is to share the teachings of the Holy Catholic Church on this subject by simply reading verbatim the text from the Catechism of the Catholic Church regarding Chastity and homosexuality, while avoiding any commentary since the teaching in the text itself is lucid, succinct, and thorough. We would like to say to you our listener, no matter who you are or what you believe, I love you, the Church loves you, and our Heavenly Father in heaven especially loves you. As a matter of fact He loves you infinitely as if you were the only person He ever created. He sent His son, Jesus to die for you on the Cross for your salvation.? May we say that all of the Catholic Church’s teachings are really a love letter from God, a loving ideal and guide to live by so we can be happy both here on earth and in eternity with the One Who is Love, Jesus, our Lord. Here we are discussing openness to life within marriage. The answer to this question lies in the law of love, and also, of course, in hope and trust as opposed to fear, which so infects the world today. Kathleen and I made the regretful mistake of beginning our marriage succumbing to the lie of artificial contraception, including the use of the abortifacient pill. By the sublime grace of God we converted from this error, and have been showered with the undeserved grace of having thus far 19 children, 14 living on earth and five in heaven. The Catholic Church teaches that it is necessary that each and every marriage act remain ordered per se to the procreation of human life -- Catechism No. 2366. Why would the Church teach this? What business it of theirs you might ask. Ok, I can understand this initial reaction. Let’s see if I can shed a little light on this question. In other words, each marital act must include both the element of unity, oneness, and pleasure… along with the potential life-giving side of the act. Should we accept one benefit and power of the gift while rejecting the other ? This calls for openness to the gift of life and trust in God’s providence. The Church does of course allow for couples to space the births of their children for just reasons via natural family planning, which could be the subject of another program. So the subjective question comes down to married couples discovering the will of God each month, each cycle of fertility, regarding their openness and readiness to embrace and be open to co-creating new life in partnership with God, of bringing a beautiful new person into existence in time and eternity, 00:55:00Forming Faithful FamiliesnoCatholic, marriage,Christian,Scripture, familyAwe of Life Part Two What do you suggest for couples seeking to discern what God asks of them through the Church's call to responsible parenthood? We long ago repented of and regret this objectively grave sin, which has been washed away in the Precious Blood of our merciful Jesus. You see whatever you may think about the morality of so-called contraception, the scientific fact, that many are totally unaware of, is that The Pill as well as  some other forms of so called birth control, does have an abortifacient property wherein break-through fertilization may occur while, while at the same time, the Pill has made the lining of the womb (the endometrium) hostile toward the implantation of the fertilized egg—which is indeed a very small, unique, gifted, unrepeatable human being—thus causing the death of the baby.[i] Some may argue that there is not a human life present; but if there is not a human life, what in the world is it? The Church teaches the truth that life begins at conception, which is further defined as fertilization. At that moment, when the sperm fertilizes the egg, God infuses an immortal soul into the child. When else would life begin other than at the beginning? “Before I formed you in the womb I knew you; before you came to birth I consecrated you” (Jeremiah 1:5, JB).        [i] Read further about what experts say athttp://www.prolife.com/BIRTHCNT.html 00:30:00Forming Faithful Familiesnomarriage, catholic,Christian,Scripture, familyI am sad to report that Kathleen and I are potentially guilty of abortion ourselves in that we used the Pill for a period of time before we started our family.More on Healing through Mercy and Forgiveness.http://www.blogtalkradio.com/formingfaithfulfamilies/2014/04/04/more-on-healing-through-mercy-and-forgivenessSelf Helphttp://www.blogtalkradio.com/formingfaithfulfamilies/2014/04/04/more-on-healing-through-mercy-and-forgiveness/#commentshttp://www.blogtalkradio.com/formingfaithfulfamilies/2014/04/04/more-on-healing-through-mercy-and-forgivenessFri, 04 Apr 2014 14:30:00 GMTMore on Healing through Mercy and Forgiveness.More on Healing through Mercy and Forgiveness. When Jesus forgives He forgets. He does not hold our sins against us. Can our all-knowing God actually forget our sins? Yes, only because He chooses to do so, and promises that He will. When we repent, our sins are blotted out, erased. “I it is, I it is, who must blot out everything and not remember your sins” (Isaiah 43:25, JB). What sins of ours do we think could possibly be too heavy for our infinitely strong God? Let’s not be foolish and proud! Come to His infinite mercy! How much does Jesus love us? He chose to bear the scars on His hands, feet, and side into heaven. I believe He is constantly showing His wounds to His Father saying, “See how much I love them!” He tells us through His prophet, “See, I have branded you on the palms of my hands” (Isaiah 49:16, JB).
