Dahlia Mostafa was born in Egypt, and was told at the age of 12 that she would be confined to a wheelchair when she was diagnosed with juvenile rheumatoid arthritis. Dahlia was blessed with loving and supportive parents who gave her the courage to look beyond and overcome this diagnosis - she never did end up in a wheelchair! In fact, she went on to receive Bachelors and Masters degrees in Electrical Engineering, and is fluent in English, Arabic and French. Her journey took her from her home country to Canada, and from Engineering to Psychology and Coaching during a family health crisis. Her career has taken her through the Oil and Gas industry, as well as Academia. Dahlia has 39 international awards based on research and academic excellence as well as her leadership, teaching skills, volunteerism and community service. She was recently awareded the 2017 Canadian Immigrants of Distinction Award in Community Service and the 2017 RBC Top 25 Canadian Immigrants Award, as well as being honored by the Governor General of Canada, on behalf of Queen Elizabeth II, by the Sovereign Medal for Volunteer. You'll be fascinated by Dahlia's journey into successful business ownership that is rare for a Muslim woman, and you'll be inspired by her commitment to raising cultural awareness and supporting others on their journeys.
