Hard Science in Movies

Darren Moser (Ceti Alpha 3) and Lee Hutchison (Filibuster) come together on this weeks Filibuster to discuss movies that have used hard science to tell their stories.

Darren and Lee go back to 1968 to explore '2001: A Space Odyssey' and it's use of scientific ideas to tell a vision of the future before heading to the 90's when Bruce Willis was recruited to save the world from an asteroid.

Hard science has been a cornerstone of movies in the past decade in movies like Interstellar, Gravity, Sunshine and The Martian. Darren and Lee examine how these movies use science and what these ideas mean for the future of mankind.

What are your favourite ideas of hard science in movies?
