Appalachian Truth Seekers began in September of 2010. Amanda Hall founded the group with two co-founders and Team Leaders, Jason Lester and Becky Arnold. Amanda has twelve years experience working with paranormal research groups. Some of the places she previously investigated prior to starting ATS were The Chester Inn located in Jonesborough, TN and Waverly Hills Sanatorium located in Louisville KY. The ATS team wanted to have an eclectic assortment of beliefs when it came to the paranormal on board. Two of the members, Kristen Manuel and Chris Rasnake have had personal experiences of their own that made them want to explore this field and would consider themselves believers. Jason and Becky have a more skeptical point of view to the paranormal and have not had a personal experience but joined the team in hopes to find proof. Amanda, herself comes from a blended perspective of science meets spirituality, but has had personal experiences with the paranormal and like Kristen and Chris feels this a strong reason for her drive and passion for this field. ATS is investigating the West Virginia State Penitentiary in May, where they will be visiting the hot spots of the cells, famous sugar shack, execution area, etc from 10pm until 6am in the morning.
