A church on nearly every corner and five storefront churches in between and the violence in Columbus is getting worse. Will Mayor-elect Skip Henderson have a heavy hand in 2019. He ran on a campaign to reduce crime that starts, for some reason, with police salaries. But how much money is enough money to put your neck on the line, especially in a town where Black lives don't seem to matter to Black people? What next?
Black folks aren't the only ones committing the crimes, of course, but they seem to be the only ones making headline news. I spend time trawling Columbus for good news, and I'm trying to find someone who can deliver it.
