Valerie Johnson-Reed, the founder of Strong To The Finish Motivational Speaking, is a native of Compton California, who grew up in Las Vegas. After attending Prairie View A&M and obtaining a Bachelor's Degree in Social Work, and a Master's in Sociology. Working in the Social Work field for 10 years, she decided to change her career to education which she has been doing for over 15 years. Valerie is a mother of three, a member of The Wisconsin Sleepers, Sigma Gamma Rho Sorority, and Order of the Eastern Star. She is the author of Stay Strong, Finish Strong! A story of hope and encouragement, for those who have and will experience Grief and Loss. She is also the author of Through Micah's Eyes, a children's book that portrays her son Micah on the day of his daddy's funeral. Strong To The Finish Real Talk Radio, is a podcast in which Valerie talks about those uncomfortable topics such as death and dying. Valerie has been featured on several online radios such as The Girlfriend's Channel, CJ Sunny South Dallas Nite Show, Message of Hope, and Faith Walk, and recently became one of the faces of Black Women Widows Empowered. She enjoys empowering others, especially women, by sharing her story of grief and loss. In December 2018, she accepted her call to ministry and going through the process of becoming an ordained minister. Valerie's goal is to encourage herself as well as others to speak up and speak out about grief and loss. Suffering loss herself she manages to keep going by holding on to faith and family. Your purpose is to stay in the race and finish strong.
