    Fighting B. A.C.K with Sandra Grazzini-Rucki

    in Family

On this episode of Fighting B.A.C.K. with Sandra Grazzini-Rucki, courageous mother Judith Forrestel, shares her story of surviving an abusive relationship only to be battered through the family court system where she lost custody of her infant son to an abuser in a temporary order that continues to this day. The State of Maryland later issued felony child abduction charges against Judith for her efforts to protect her son after his father had bruised and battered him during a two day weekend stay. On May 24, 2017, after a three day jury trial, eight woman and four men briefly deliberated and returned a unanimous not guilty verdict. Despite this, the child has not been returned and remains in the custody of a dangerous abuser. Judith was the primary caregiver when she was forcibly separated from her son, age 15 months, due to an unjust court order that has denied any and all access for visitation for over 8 long months, and counting. Sadly, the fight for her child's freedom, and safety, continues to be an unbelievable struggle in the Howard County Circuit Court, where a custody hearing will be held this August. Tune in to Fighting B.A.C.K. to hear Judith share her story. Listening to Fighting B.A.C.K. will also help expose the injustices of the the Howard County family court system and sends a message to judges, and family court professionals, that the public is concerned about families and demands justice for those hurt by unjust court orders, and family court corruption.

Professional Predatory Guardians: The perfect job for psychopaths?

    in Family

Our guests this evening: Atty. Lisa Belanger & David Arnold (physicist, Ret.)
We will be discussing a really ugly case of guardianship and what might be the underlying cause that drives this system of human trafficking.
    From Psychology Today:
According to the articles on the website of Psychology Today, titled, “Psychopathy” and “PlainSight” psychopaths appear perfectly normal. However, they lack conscience and empathy.
“The most dangerous predators often look harmless — until they strike.”
As explained by Dr. J. Reid Meloy, author of The Psychopathic Mind: Origins, Dynamics, and Treatment, psychopathic serial killers are emotionally disconnected from their actions and, therefore, indifferent to the suffering of their victims. Their ability to dissociate themselves emotionally from their actions and their denial of responsibility effectively neutralizes any guilt or remorse that other people would feel in similar circumstances
Considering the number of victims of predatory guardians, could we really be dealing with the most dangerous individuals in society? Indifferent to their actions? Denying responsibility? No guilt or remorse?
    David Arnold:
“In my opinion the power, immunity, and lack of oversight of guardians may be attracting people with dangerous hidden personality traits. This is potentially very serious. However, it would need to be evaluated by someone with the proper expertise in psychology.”

About Family

Like the TV show, modern families come in all shapes and sizes. Many children are a product of divorce, are in touch with both their biological and adopted parents, have two moms or two dads (or both), or are being raised by their grandparents. No matter how atypical the face of today's family, the values stay the same: love and support. Moms and dads will find plenty of support in BlogTalkRadio's parenting shows, especially those about time-management topics that fit both stay-at-home and working parents: organizing kids' activity schedules, decluttering, reducing the workweek, managing stress, making quick meals and more. We've also got shows about friendship – you know, your family of choice rather than family of origin. Just remember: everyone's family seems dysfunctional in its own way. And family may irritate you, but more often than not, you can always count on family to pick you up from the airport.
